Why do I need to connect my bank to BOPP?
We ask that anyone requesting money from others using BOPP first validate their bank details for two reasons:
1. Security of all BOPP users
By ensuring bank verification for all BOPP payees, all payers will know that when a BOPP Paylink request is sent to them it can only contain bank account information that was sourced directly from a bank. There is no opportunity for anyone requesting payment using BOPP to fraudulently change some of the payment details (e.g. account name).
2. For convenience
It means for all payees that they do not need to worry about typos when setting up their BOPP account. BOPP will guarantee that their correct bank details are used every time.
Also note, no bank log-in information is ever shared with BOPP or anyone else. This is a core part of the security model for the security of all BOPP users.
